International Documentary Competition

::: CINEMAMBIENTE PRIZE PROVINCIA DI TORINO :::
      2500 euro for best documentary
JAURY: Mario Brenta, Ermanno Comuzio, Lucia Rikaki, Julio Santucho, Mohammed
      Soudani

After viewed the competing films the jury appreciated variety in style of the different works of interest. On account of the diversity of the films, although there was only one award, the jury decided to award two films, which despite their formal difference, converge on one point.

To Andrzej Klamt and Ulrich Rydzewski for the film Carpatia, which, with its high-quality figurative taste and its expressiveness full of human warmth only seemingly depicts a nostalgic world which is in fact a healthily alternative one to present day city life conditions.

Special Mention

To Erik Gandini for the film Surplus which, from an anti-consumer point of an unconventional character, shows with the dynamic lean of a moderately aggressive sarcasm the concrete dangers of a lifestyle involving each and very one of us.

:: GIOVANI DELLA CONSULTA PROVINCIALE DEGLI STUDENTI DI TORINO PRIZE :::
      1500 euro for best documentary

Jury : JURY: Francesco Campobello, Elisabetta Chiono, Umberto Marengo, Tommaso
               Soave, Giulia Tasoni.

To Paul Devlin for the film Power Trip for their ability to combining important themes such as the different development models and the service privatisation issue within a setting unseen so far without stumbling in pre-established positions, thus setting off the complexity of the economic and social situation in Georgia.

Special Mention

To Erik Gandini for the film Surplus, a work of great expressive intensity, which, thanks to its perfect integration of words music and images, transfers a high impact political message which inspires also existential reflections over the opportunities awaiting present day society.
